- Magazine Illustrative Story
- A non-news story about food, fashion, natural history, science/technology, or similar topics. The expectation is that the images are illustrative or essay oriented.
- Magazine Sports Feature Story
- Entries may consist of single or multiple pages.
- Magazine Recurring Feature or Series
- 4 examples of the series or feature.
- Magazine Personality Profile or Lifestyle Story
- Entries may consist of single or multiple pages.
- Magazine Picture Editor of the Year
- A portfolio of no more than 10 complete entries from the above listed Magazine Picture Editing categories. Judges will consider range and diversity of entrant’s portfolio.

- Newspaper Front page
- The front page of the newspaper.
- Newspaper News section front other than front page
- A single news section front other than the front page.
- Newspaper Sports
- The front page from the Sports section. Interior pages should be entered in EN04.
- Newspaper Sports project
- One or more pages. Single-page entries that ran as the front page should be entered in EN03.
- Newspaper Documentary-Photojournalism project
- A single-page presentation of a project. The expectation is that the project was not breaking news and allowed planning.
- Newspaper Documentary-Photojournalism project
- A multiple-page documentary project. The expectation is that the project was not breaking news and allowed planning.
- Newspaper Illustrative project, single page
- A single page presentation of food, fashion, natural history, science or technology, or related topics. The expectation is that the images are illustrative or essay oriented.

- A multiple page presentation of food, fashion, natural history, science or technology, or related topics. The expectation is that the images are illustrative or essay oriented.
