The Block: Money, Power and Respect – This entry was awarded first place for work which raises the bar for all of us. Brenda Ann Kenneally’s work shows a strong commitment to understanding and documenting the lives of these people addicted to cocaine and the affect it has on their lives and those of their families. We were impressed with the access and trust she gained with her subjects. The work is raw, honest and real. The photographs are composed with a fresh eye and layered with information. She has captured moments and subtleties of emotion. That combined with the subjects telling their own stories in audio made for a powerful presentation. The website treatment showed great respect for the photography.
