Thirty minutes before their same-sex marriage ceremony across the street at San Francisco's City Hall, Robert Castillo (left) and John Pennycuff of Chicago kiss in their hotel room while slow dancing to "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson on Friday, March 5th, 2004. In August, a California court declared the pair's union and hundreds of others invalid.
