summary - "Carnaval" - As the heat of July weighs itself upon the Caribbean island nation of Cuba, a festival breaks out in the eastern town of Santiago de Cuba named Carnaval. Cuba s Carnaval, the second largest in the world next to Rio de Janeiro, draws tens of thousands of partygoers every night into its streets to watch the parades and to dance. The music plays constantly throughout the city, whether it s traditional Cuban "son", Cuban hip-hop or American rap. The parades last for one week but the partying can last for up to one month. People are dancing and drinking.
