Along a busy alleyway in Peshawar, an impoverished young boy watches madrassa students recite their prayers. For many Pakistani s sending their children to madrassas where they receive free education as well as room and board is the only way out of the vicious cycle of poverty they live in. Though the US govt. blames madrassas as breeding grounds for hate, President Pervez Musharraf defends the religious schools saying they fill a huge void in the country's impoverished school system.
