A doctor at the Naseer Camp Hospital holds up the x-ray of Wali Khan, 10, an Afghan refugee from Jalabad, Afghanistan, at the Torkham border crossing at the Pakistan-Afghan border in the Khyber Agency of Pakistan on Monday, November 12, 2001. The x-ray shows a bomb fragment lodged in his skull that was just removed in surgery. He was injured six days earlier, and his father carried him across the border through an unguarded pass to the hospital.
